Elk City Hotel Being Torn Down, Says City Manager Tom Ivester

HometownTV’s Nathan Brewer sat down with Elk City City Manager Tom Ivester in the KECO 96.5FM studio to discuss the recent news of the demolition of the old Red Carpet Inn.

According to Ivester, the hotel, which was formerly the LaQuinta, was declared dilapidated by the city commission and is privately owned. The owners have decided to tear it down, “hopefully for future development.”

Ivester estimated the cost of the project to be between $150,000 and $200,000 for the tear down.

The hotel’s demolition marks the end of an era for Elk City, but city officials are hopeful that future development will bring new opportunities to the area.
